Brittney Glover, Veterinary Assistant/Equine Technician
Brittney is a 2014 WVU graduate with a bachelors in Animal Nutrition with an Equine Studies minor and is a Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist. She joined Hoof & Paw in April 2018 and works in both Equine and Small Animal so you'll see her in the office and out on the road! After graduating from WVU, Brittney worked as a small animal tech for 3+ years at a small AAHA practice in Morgantown WV. She grew up with horses and they are her passion. She enjoys MGAA mounted games, dressage, and trail riding. She has 2 Alaskan Malamute fur-kids, Clyde and Nova, who love to go hiking, swimming, and camping. She enjoys canine training and behavior modification. Brittney has had a love for animals since she was a tiny tot, so her path was always destin to lead her to a career taking care of our second best friends!
Heather Myers, Receptionist
Heather has been at our front desk since August 2017. She has a big heart, a sunny disposition and always has a cheery compliment for everyone she sees. Heather's love for animals is apparent by the amount of rescue and fostering she does. She is especially drawn to animals with special needs and is talented in nursing them back to health. The only things Heather loves more than rescuing animals are her three wonderful daughters who she credits for giving her the drive to strive for what she believes in and to follow her heart.
Blake Simon, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Blake has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years and is a licensed veterinary technician. He found his love for animals in college when he took his first job helping at a local veterinary hospital. He has a deep passion for sight hounds, guitar playing, and auto racing.
Jen Mathias, Receptionist
Jen is originally from New Market, VA. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in dramatic interpretation and a minor in English. In her spare time she enjoys gardening (she is a master gardener), doing yoga and singing in her church choir. She absolutely adores her cat, Cecilia.
Denise Corder, Practice Manager
Denise has been with Hoof & Paw since 1996 and has been working in the veterinary profession since 1993. She grew up in Loudoun County and enjoyed riding English in 4-H and Pony Club. Her family moved to Arizona her Junior year where she started riding in the High School Rodeo and fell in love with the Quarter Horse. Missing Virginia, Denise moved back to Loudoun County and married a childhood friend, Dennis, and they have 3 sons, Jeremy, Joey and Jarod. She enjoys riding in team penning and sorting competitions, taking motorcycle trips with her husband and spending time in the mountains with her family.
Brittany Leone, Equine Assistant
Britt joined Hoof and Paw’s equine team early in 2020, after being a client for over 15 years! She grew up loving all animals big and small, but her passion has always been horses. Growing up she participated in all aspects of her local Pony Club competing in rallies, ratings, clinics, and eventing. After high school, she adventured to Florida for many years and then to the tiny Pacific island of Guam, where she enjoyed teaching beginner riding lessons, and fostering island puppies. Her story has now brought her home where she is blessed to spend each day with her childhood Connemara Pony “Sir Purcellville”, her miniature horse “DaVinci”, two black labs “Bentley” and “Beamer”, and her amazing family....
Shannon DeArmas, DVM
Shannon DeArmas, DVM, is a 1998 graduate of Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and has been taking excellent care of our equine patients since January 2011. For twelve years she was an associate of Coddle Creek Animal Hospital in Concord, North Carolina. Her special interests are in ophthalmology, internal medicine and reproduction. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. DeArmas trained and cared for exotic animals including the training of an elephant. Before that she was an assistant trainer at November Hill Farm, Keswick, VA. She studied with numerous dressage trainers including Gerd Zuther of Va., Ulrich Schmitz of Arizona and Major Andres Lindgren of Sweden. She continued her interest and expertise in Dressage over the years and has trained through Grand Prix.
Amy Martin, LVT
Amy has been a team member of Hoof & Paw since October 2006. Amy's family moved to a small farm in Loudoun County in 1976. This move allowed her to own many pets, including horses. After attending the Washington Business School in Vienna, Virginia, she worked as a medical secretary for local doctors. Her appreciation and love for animals inspired her to attend the Veterinary Technician Program at NOVA Community College. Now she is combining her medical, office background and nursing skills at Hoof & Paw. She enjoys helping horses, dogs and cats and their owners. Amy says that sometimes helping includes a kind word or hug and other times monitoring anesthesia. But whatever the task, she is rewarded in the knowledge that her patients are receiving the best veterinary and nursing care at Hoof & Paw.
Hoof & Paw welcomed Dr. Dunn in December 2018! She is a 2014 graduate from Virginia-Maryland regional college of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. Her primary interests include small animal pain management & hospice care, integrative medicine, and rescue work. Dr. Dunn spends a large portion of her free time working for Loudoun Community Cat Coalition by running their spay/neuter program, and educating the community about population control. When not working, you can find her cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies during football season. She currently resides in Lovettsville with her daughter and three dogs.

Meg Jobson, Lead LVT
Meg Jobson has been in the veterinary field since 1987 and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 1994. She graduated from Mary Washington College with a degree in Biology in 1992 and went on to earn her degree in Veterinary Technology from Northern Virginia Community College. Originally from Oakton, VA, Meg has lived in Montana, Texas and Pennsylvania. She now lives in Stephens City, VA, with her husband, 2 sons and a herd of rescued animals. She enjoys spending her spare time with her horse, Roanie, cruising on motorcycles and coaching soccer. She has been a team member at Hoof & Paw since April 2001!
Cymri Herndon, Veterinary Nurse
Cymri Herndon was born in Fairfax VA and moved to Leesburg VA when she was 2 years old. She grew up idolizing Jane Goodall and even got to meet her once. She spent 10 years living in Eastern Tennessee where she received her bachelor's degree in biology and worked on her master's degree in developmental anatomy. During that time she worked at her first vet clinic and hasn't looked back since. Cymri lives in Leesburg with her crazy dog Winnie and her herd of rescue cats! Hoof & Paw has been lucky to have her caring and compassionate service since May 2002!
Paula A. Horne, DVM
Dr. Paula A. Horne, is a 1984 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and has served the equine community with her expertise, compassion and dedication for more than thirty years. Dr. Horne has vast experience in all aspects of equine ambulatory medicine, to include purchase exams, lameness evaluations, imaging (ultrasound and x-ray), reproduction and preventative medicine. She is a founding member of the International Association of Equine Locomotor Pathology (Lameness Diagnosis) and completed all of their training modules. She is also trained in the use of the Lameness Locator– computerized objective lameness diagnostic system. In 2019 Dr. Horne has returned to her roots as a mixed animal practitioner. She in enjoying getting to know the small animal clientele. Dr. Horne resides in Purcellville. She is a National Examiner for the U.S. Pony Clubs. She owns Corgidale Farm where she has bred warmbloods for the last 3 decades. She currently is competing her home-bred Lusitano cross, Fenix in dressage and eventing. Along with 2 grown children, Dr. Horne loves several dogs, horses, cats, ferrets and tortoises. Her passion away from practice is traveling the world.

Allyson Mitchell, Office Manager
Allyson has been an integral team member at Hoof & Paw since June 2014 and equine clients are used to hearing her cheery voice scheduling their appointments and helping in anyway she can. She has had an obsession with animals since a young age. It started with dogs, cats, hamsters, and rabbits. She learned quickly to keep the hamsters and cats and the dogs and rabbits separated. Around age eight, she started with her first pony and Pony Club. As she got older she stepped up her horse competition and started competing in Team Penning and Sorting. She joined the Tri State Team Penning Association and has competed in various competitions in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Allyson and her team took youth team penning champions one year at the State Fair of Virginia. She was also recognized by the United States Team Penning Association as one of the top five regional youth team penners. Allyson describes herself as a bit of a wild child. Her newest passion is Barrel racing and competes locally and on the national level on her horse, Steele, that she trained herself!
